Shankar Earni is a researcher, engineer, and technical expert in the Building and Industrial Applications Department at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). He supports DOE efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in the commercial and industrial sectors. Prior to joining LBNL, Shankar worked as a Senior Performance Assurance Specialist at Johnson Controls Inc. where he worked on the development, implementation, and evaluation of energy projects in commercial buildings. He’s led and participated in energy audits for industrial and commercial sectors to identify energy and productivity savings. Shankar has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Management from Oklahoma State University, and Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University in India. He has played a key role in developing resources, tools, and technical publications related to energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
