The mission of the OBO BIM program is to enable access to validated, high quality information to support informed decision making for OBO as a global real estate owner and operator. The BIM program supports Department of State goals for improving its overseas building design, construction, and facilities program. The BIM roadmap supports the following objectives:
- Reduce cost for all project types and delivery methods
- Improve building design functionality and efficiency over the lifecycle of the facility
- Support collaboration among the project participants and enhance quality assurance
- Attract and develop innovative staff
- Minimize project waste and reduce risk for all project stakeholders
- Control performance of processes using quantitative techniques
