John Shonder is Director of Business Development at Lindahl Reed, a company specializing in energy innovation, national security, and environmental stewardship. With over 30 years of experience in federal energy initiatives, Shonder has significantly contributed to advancing the energy efficiency of U.S. government facilities. During his tenure at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), he was instrumental in promoting energy performance contracting as a reliable tool for federal energy management. He also served as the Director of the Sustainability Performance Office at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), overseeing energy and operational efficiency improvements across the DOE’s extensive network of sites and national laboratories. Shonder led the launch of a Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC) program at a leading energy service company, establishing strategic partnerships with utilities nationwide. He is the author/co-author of more than 50 publications on federal energy management, focusing on energy systems, performance contracting, and infrastructure modernization.
