Dalinda Bangert was introduced to renewable energy early in life when her father founded an ethanol company in response to the oil embargo—a formative experience that sparked her lifelong interest in energy and sustainability. She earned a degree in Architecture from the University of Oklahoma, where she discovered that her natural appreciation for frugality and efficiency aligned with sustainable design. Dalinda began her career in the homebuilding industry before becoming a HERS Rater, LEED for Homes Green Rater, and later a Green Building Code Administrator for the City of Santa Fe. For the past five years, she has served as the Sustainable Buildings Coordinator at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she supports the planning and development of efficient, resilient, and environmentally responsible facilities across the Lab’s diverse and complex portfolio.
