Dr. Bandana Kar is a Senior Researcher in the Resilient Infrastructure and Security Center at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). She was an AAAS Science, Technology and Policy Fellow at the U.S. Dept. of Energy (2022 – 2024), a Senior Scientist and a Group Lead at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (2017-2022), and a tenured Associate Professor at University of Southern Mississippi (2008-2017). She has been funded by DHS, DOE, NASA, NSF to develop data driven solutions to assist with resource planning and decision-making to reduce risks and improve community and energy resilience to extreme events.
