This standard establishes requirements for general-purpose, bathroom, glass, and carpet cleaners marketed specifically for use in households or similar residential settings. This standard includes general-purpose, bathroom, glass and carpet cleaning products that contain enzymes or microorganisms. This standard does not include products that contain enzymes and are sold in, or designed for use in, spray packaging. This standard does not include antimicrobial pesticide products such as those requiring registration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act, such as those making claims as sterilizers, disinfectants, or sanitizers.
