This command is active when the cursor is positioned within the Navigator and can be executed from the Editor's Toolbar, or the Navigator's Right-click menu.

Allows you to promote paragraphs or subparagraphs to the next higher level. When promoting, a paragraph to an article the Editor will automatically change the SubpartThe levels below a Part are referred to as Subparts. These Subpart levels are then broken down into and referenced as Articles, Paragraphs and Subparagraphs, although the share the same Subpart <SPT> Tag title from Title Case (Capitalize Each Word) to UPPERCASE and mark the changes with RevisionsThe Revisions command reveals or conceals Revisions that are tagged in the text. Text to be added is identified with underscoring and the addition tags, <ADD> and </ADD>. Whereas text to be deleted, or Redlined, is identified with overstriking and the delete tags, <DEL> and </DEL> as long as the Job is set to use Revisions.

Illustration Icon Indicating Helpful HintThe order is determined by the order in which the subparts are promoted, with the most recently promoted paragraphs appearing first. When promoting multiple subparts, promote them in the order you want them displayed (starting from the bottom and working your way up).

How To Use This Feature

  1. In the Navigator, select the Subpart
  2. Right-click and select Promote Subpart, or select the  Promote Subpart button on the Toolbar

  1. In the Navigator, select the last Subpart you want to promote

  2. Right-click and select Promote Subpart, or select the Promote Subpart button on the Toolbar

  3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until all of the subparts have been promoted into the proper order
