DOE Federal Energy Management Program - FEMP

The purpose of this course is to teach ways to reduce operating cost and provide energy savings to the building you are responsible for or will be responsible for in the future. However, the focus is on buildings that do not have a building automation system (BAS). The measures identified in this course are more prescriptive in nature, and the buildings are primarily served by packaged equipment. If your building employs a BAS, see the Re-tuning Training for Buildings with Building Automation Systems course.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Explore the initial steps involved in Re-tuning a building that does not have a BAS;
  • Define how to identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Recognize how to implement low-cost changes to reduce overall energy consumption; and
  • Engage in interactive exercises included in the training to provide "hands-on" practice of the re-tuning process within a virtual building by identifying opportunities for energy improvement and determining how to re-tune for more efficiency.
