Lighting technology is changing rapidly and the federal government continues to lead by example in efficient lighting applications. This course provides an comprehensive overview of exterior lighting systems, including types of technologies, lighting controls, key applications, and emerging technologies. Course instruction also details government purchasing and agency requirements for interior lighting systems.

Michael Myer, Lighting Engineer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory   

Michael Myer earned a B.A. from Arizona State University and an M.S. in Lighting from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Myer is a lighting engineer with considerable experience in architectural lighting design, specializing in sustainable lighting design, controls, and new technologies. At Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Mr. Myer works on various lighting-related projects including: Commercial Buildings Integration, FEMP, Appliance Standards and some codes analysis. Mr. Myer has been involved in PNNL-related fieldwork including the Light Right Consortium and the DOE Solid-State Lighting Gateway Demonstrations. Mr. Myer has authored or co-authored many technical publications/reports and made several presentations at national conferences.
