The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Executive Order 14057 require agencies to prioritize the purchase of sustainable products and services. This includes procurement strategies to reduce contractor emissions and embodied emissions in products acquired or used in Federal projects. What impact will this requirement have on performance contracting projects? This training session will discuss why, where, and how to approach sustainable and low carbon materials and products and other requirements such as Buy American Act (BAA) in performance contracts and other government procurements.

Instructors

Allison Ackerman, Program Manager. Energy-Efficient Product Procurement, Healthy Buildings, DOE: Department of Energy - Federal Energy Management Program

Rachel Shepherd, Distributed Energy and Energy Procurement Program Leader, Federal Energy Management Program

Michael Bloom, High-Performance Buildings Program Advisor, U.S. General Services Administration

Cate Berard, Team Lead for Sustainability, U.S. Department of Energy
