DESCRIPTION

This dual-purpose entity tag identifies specialized data specific to each Section. Currently there are two Meta Data tags used to designate Sections containing the Unified Submittal DescriptionsA Tri-Services streamlined list of Submittal Descriptions that combines and simplifies Submittal Descriptions into eleven core categories and Sections that use Automatic Paragraph Numbering.

RULES

Must immediately follow the SEC tag and before the HDR tag. Empty tag that contains no data; one of the few tags that does not have an end tag.

   
CHARACTER LIMITATIONS

None

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To NoteBoth MTA tags are automatically inserted when processing a Master.  If the MTA tags are missing and need to be re-inserted manually, then Tags and Notes must be visible for proper placement. 

How To Use This Feature

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select a Job or Master and perform one of the following: 
    1. Right-click and select Release Processing, then select Mark All as Unified Submittal Descriptions 
    2. Select the Process menu and select Release Processing for Job or Master, then select Mark All as Unified Submittal Descriptions 
  2. Click OK

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select a Job or Master 
  2. Select the Process menu and select Convert to Automatic Numbering 
  3. On the Backup Project window, select Convert Sections to automatic paragraph numbering 
  4. In the Confirm Selections window, perform one of the following:
    1. Unhighlight the Sections you want to leave unchanged
    2. Leave all the Sections highlighted
  5. Click OK

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To Note When inserting MTA tags, ensure tags and notes are visible. They must be inserted between the SEC and HDR tags, with the MTA tag for the Unified Submittal Descriptions (SUBFORMAT CONTENT=NEW) directly following the SEC tag, and the MTA tag for Automatic Paragraph Numbering (AUTONUMBER CONTENT =TRUE) before the HDR tag as illustrated below:

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, open a Section and place your cursor after the SEC tag, or before the HDR tag (depending on the tag you want to insert)
  2. Select the Insert menu or press F4
  3. In the Insert Tag window, perform one of the following:
    1. With the Name field active, type 'M' until Meta Data appears
    2. Click the dropdown arrow, scroll down the list, and select Meta Data
    3. Select OK
  4. Place your cursor to the immediate right of the <MTA/> tag, right-click and select Attributes
  5. Select New Submittal Format or Automatically Number Paragraphs
