This command can be executed from the Editor's Toolbar, Navigator's Right-click menu, or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C.

Allows you to copy a selected SubpartThe levels below a Part are referred to as Subparts. These Subpart levels are then broken down into and referenced as Articles, Paragraphs and Subparagraphs, although the share the same Subpart <SPT> Tag and place it on the Windows ClipboardThe Windows Clipboard is a temporary storage location for transferring information. Information is placed in the Clipboard through the cut or copy function and will remain there until you clear the Clipboard, cut or copy another piece of information onto it, or exit Windows.  To paste the SubpartThe levels below a Part are referred to as Subparts. These Subpart levels are then broken down into and referenced as Articles, Paragraphs and Subparagraphs, although the share the same Subpart <SPT> Tag and its text you must do so from the Editing Window.

How To Use This Feature

  1. In the Navigator, select the Subpart
  2. Right-clickTo press the right button of a mouse and release it to open a menu and select Cut or Ctrl+X

If you are using this command to copy a Subpart to the clipboard, we are going to assume you plan to paste it to another location. If this is the case, you might want to use the Navigator's Right-click Copy Commands.

This command provides more control over the placement of Subparts so you can easily copy them without having to rely on the Copy and Paste functions. When you use the left mouse button to drag-and-drop, the Selected Subpart will be deleted from its current position and moved to the location in which you release the mouse button. When you use the right mouse button to drag-and-drop, a pop-up menu displayed below opens providing more precise control on where you want the Subpart moved.

The Navigator's drag-and-drop Copy commands give more options and control over the regular copy commands mentioned above.  As illustrated, you can either copy the selected Subpart before, into, or after another Subpart.

Using this Feature

  1. In the Navigator, select the Subpart you wish to copy
  2. Right-click and hold the right mouse button
  3. Drag the mouse to the desired location and release the right mouse button
  4. The Copy menu options illustrated above will appear, choose Copy Before, Copy Into, or Copy After
