This command can be executed from the SI Explorer's File menu and Right-click menu.

Job or Master name

The JobA specific facility construction project that consists of a group of guide specifications (Section (.sec) files) that are adapted to the project or MasterA group of standard Government agency (Master) Guide Specifications used in the preparation of a Job name is required and identifies the ProjectRefers to Jobs and Masters. in the SpecsIntact Explorer and Windows File ExplorerThe Windows Explorer is Microsoft Windows file manager application that is included in the operating system. It provides a graphical interface and allows users to manage files, folders, and network connections, as well as search for files and related components. Valid project names have a 16-character limit to include letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. Spaces and other punctuation characters are not supported. By default, when printing or publishing, the Job or Master name is printed at the top right corner of each Section.A set of files within the Division of a Master or Job that covers specific aspects of construction

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To Note After a project is created its name cannot be edited directly and needs to be changed through the File > Rename menu or by right-clicking on the Job or Master.

Date Created

The system automatically generates the date and time a project is created.

Job or Master Title

The title is required and provides additional descriptive information about the project. Project titles offer flexibility within a 64-character limit. Use a combination of letters, numbers, punctuation, and Title Case or ALL CAPS.

Contract

The Contract NumberA number that is assigned to a particular Job assigned to a Job can be noted and will appear on the Submittal Register when printed or published. Contract numbers are only used for Jobs, not Masters.

Location

The physical location where the facility will be constructed can be noted, but not required.

Lead Specifier

The assigned lead Specifier for the Job or Master.

Source

Captures the original source of specifications when added to the Job or Master. For example, if the Section originated from a particular UFGS Release (e.g. UFGS May 2024) or a Local MasterA Master that is specific to a District, Region, or AE Firm that contains unique Sections that cannot be found in the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) Master.

Path

The default Working DirectoriesA designated location on your systems hard drive or network drive where the Jobs, Masters, and Templates are stored path is displayed automatically.  If other Working Directories are connected they will be available in the drop-down list. To manage the Working Directories, click the Working Directories button. This allows you to create new Working Directories or connect to existing ones.

Primary Master

Displays the default Primary MasterIdentifies the source Master for a Job when created to establish the primary source of specifications used in your Job. The default Master is the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) Master, or depending on the project requirements a District or Regional Master can be used chosen during installation. To assign a new Primary Master for a Job, choose one from the drop-down list or use the Connect Masters button to select a different one.

Submittal Register Format

The Submittal Register format is identified by the Primary UFGS Master when creating a Job.

Print

This option will print a complete report containing the information from each tab.
