The Rename command allows you to change the name of the selected JobA specific facility construction project that consists of a group of guide specifications (Section (.sec) files) that are adapted to the project or MasterA group of standard Government agency (Master) Guide Specifications used in the preparation of a Job. The name identifies the Job or Master in the SpecsIntact Explorer and Windows File ExplorerThe Windows Explorer is Microsoft Windows file manager application that is included in the operating system. It provides a graphical interface and allows users to manage files, folders, and network connections, as well as search for files and related components. The Job or Master name is also printed in the top right corner of each page.
Job and Master names may contain up to 16 letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, with no other special characters or spaces.
Before making significant changes to a Job or Master, it's always recommended to create a backup first. You can do this easily by going to the File menu > Backup and Restore.

- New Job or Master name - Identifies the project in the SpecsIntact Explorer and Windows File Explorer.The Windows Explorer is Microsoft Windows file manager application that is included in the operating system. It provides a graphical interface and allows users to manage files, folders, and network connections, as well as search for files and related components
- Restore print settings to default values - Provides the option to restore the print settings to their default values. Leaving this option unchecked is advisable when renaming a project, as it ensures that the current print settings remain unchanged.
Standard Windows Commands
The OK button will execute and save the selections made.
The Cancel button will close the window without recording any selections or changes entered.
The Help button will open the Help Topic for this window.
How To Use This Feature
to Rename a Job or Master:
- In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select a Job or Master, then perform one of the following:
- Right-click and select Rename
- Select the File menu and select Rename
- On the Rename Job or Master window, place your cursor in the Job or Master name field and type a new name
- Click OK
- When the Rename Job or Master window appears, click Yes
- When the Rename Project window appears, click OK
