This command will Import an existing Excel XML Spreadsheet into a SpecsIntact Formatted Table.
Before attempting to Import an Excel Spreadsheet verify the file extension is XML, not XLS. SpecsIntact can only import XML files. If the file is an XLS Workbook, it must be saved as an Excel XML Spreadsheet or Excel XML Spreadsheet 2003 before continuing.
Some organizations have disabled the ability to Save Excel XML spreadsheets. The latest version of SpecsIntact (v5.2.1 or newer) now allows you to copy and paste entire Excel spreadsheets or Word tables into SpecsIntact tables.
It is important to understand the format of the Excel XML Spreadsheet will determine how well the Table imports into SpecsIntact. Make sure the spreadsheet is meticulously organized and formatted. Illustrated below is an example of a spreadsheet that can be a potential formatting problem when imported into a SpecsIntact Table.
Excel formatting that can cause adverse results when importing into a SpecsIntact Table.
Suggested format changes after Unmerging Rows and Deleting Unused Columns as illustrated above.
SpecsIntact will import spreadsheets containing up to 25 columns and 400 rows. Tables containing 25 columns will be extremely small and difficult to read as it
must fit the SI Editor's margin settings, which only provide approximately 6 1/2 inches of workable space.
For the most efficient import, set up the table with the exact number of columns and rows beforehand.

The steps provided below assumes you have already prepared and saved the Excel spreadsheet, as and Excel XML Spreadsheet, as indicated above.
Some minor adjustments to the format, column width and row height may need to be done once the Excel® XML Spreadsheet has been imported into the SI Editor.
