This command can also be executed from the SpecsIntact Explorer's Toolbar, Right-click menu, or keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A.

The Add Sections window provides three distinct tabs to pick the Sections to add to your Job or Master, specifically from Masters, other JobsTemplates, or any combination of these sources. The Masters tab specifically provides a way to integrate Sections from the UFGS Master or a local Master into the currently selected Job or local Master.

Masters Pane

In the Masters pane, you can select the source Master, Divisions(s), or make granular selections to individual Sections within each Division. This is done by placing a check in the box next to each MasterA group of standard Government agency (Master) Guide Specifications used in the preparation of a Job, DivisionEach Master is made up of Divisions containing groups of Sections that cover specific construction areas. Division Names and Titles are in accordance with CSI MasterFormat™(s), or SectionA set of files within the Division of a Master or Job that covers specific aspects of construction(s) you wish to add.

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To NoteWhen you select a Master, all underlying Divisions and Sections are automatically selected as well. Similarly, selecting a Division will automatically include all Sections within that Division.

Additionally, the Add Sections Masters tab provides the following options:

Illustration Icon Indicating Important Information To NoteWhen tailored Sections are added to a Job, regardless of the method used, the Tailor Sections in Job window automatically opens. To learn more about this functionality, refer to the Tailoring topic.

Illustration Icon Indicating Helpful HintIn the Masters pane, use the Expand Illustration SI Explorer's Tree View Collapse button or Collapse Illustration SI Explorer's Tree View Expand button buttons to show or hide the contents of a Master or Division. When incorporating multiple Sections from a specific Division, an efficient method is to initially select the Division and then deselect any undesired Sections.

How To Use This Feature

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the target Job or local Master, then perform one of the following:
    1. Right-click and select Add Sections
    2. Click the Add Sections button on the Toolbar
    3. Select the File Menu and select Add Sections
    4. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A
  2. On the Masters tab, below the Masters pane, perform one of the following:
    1. Check the box next to Division(s) to select all its Sections
    2. Expand a Division and check the box next to one or more Sections
  3. Once the Section(s) are selected, click the Add button to add them to the Contents of Job or Master pane
  4. Click OK

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the source Master (e.g., UFGS Master or a local Master)
  2. In the Contents pane, perform one of the following:
    1. To select a single Section, click-and-hold the mouse to drag-and-drop the Section to the target Job or local Master
    2. To select multiple consecutive Sections, select the first Section, press-and-hold the Shift key and select the last Section, then use the mouse to drag-and-drop the Sections to the target Job or local Master
    3. To select multiple non-consecutive Sections, press-and-hold the Ctrl key and select each Section, then use the mouse to drag-and-drop the Sections to the target Job or local Master
  3. On the Copy Files window, click Yes
  4. On the Section Copied window, click OK

  1. In the SpecsIntact Explorer, select the source Master (e.g., UFGS Master or a local Master)
  2. In the Contents panel, perform one of the following:
    1. To select a single Section to copy, select a Section, then press Ctrl+C
    2. To select multiple consecutive Sections, select the first Section, press-and-hold the Shift key and select the last Section, then press Ctrl+C
    3. To select multiple non-consecutive Sections, press-and-hold the Ctrl key and select each Section, then press Ctrl+C
  3. To paste the copied Sections, select the target Job or local Master, then press Ctrl+V
  4. On the Copy Files window, click Yes
  5. On the Section Copied window, click OK
