This command can also be executed from the SI Editor's keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Enter.
The Page Break command allows the insertion of a hard (forced) page break -- represented by the PGE tag -- at the cursor location. When using this tag, the SI Editor adds text line breaks when saving files, making them easier to view with third-party applications such as Notepad.
Hard page breaks (PGE) are represented by a solid line, while soft page breaks use a dotted and dashed line.
The SI Editor will not allow this tag to be used in locations where it would not be appropriate, such as inside Submittals, References, Titles, Formatted Tables, or any other specialized content.
Exercise caution when using page breaks to prevent undesirable line breaks, as they may have unexpected results. The on-screen text represents raw data. This data is processed when printing, which can result in differences in line breaks and page layout. Consequently, lines that appear continuous on the screen may wrap to the next page in the printed document once the Section has been processed/published.
