Guy Warner founded Pareto Energy in 2004 in collaboration with the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM). Currently, he leads a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the Naval Postgraduate School and the MIT Electric Energy Systems Group to develop a standard microgrid engineering and institutional design methodology for critical infrastructure energy managers. Trained as a financial economist and developer of economic optimization models, Guy worked for three years at a law firm as an antitrust economist, two years developing macroeconomic and policy planning optimization models with a small consulting firm and seven years with Price Waterhouse’s Office of Government Services and Washington National Tax Service. While at Price Waterhouse he supported business model development for disruptive technologies for newly deregulated markets in telecommunications, natural gas, and electric power. Guy has developed many energy and infrastructural planning models and provided financial and strategic planning advice to electric and gas utilities.
