Summary
This document provides guidance for the design and construction of conventionally reinforced ribbed mat slab (RRMS) foundation systems. For the purpose of this document, RRMS is defined as a system of stiffening beams and slab constructed of conventionally reinforced cast-in-place concrete to perform monolithically. RRMS must fully meet customer requirements including:
- appropriate utilization of RRMS foundation type;
- adequate structural and architectural performance; and
- aesthetically acceptable exposed area floor slabs; that is, minimum cracking in high visibility areas.
