General Services Administration (GSA)

The overall mission of the General Services Administration (GSA) is to provide policy leadership and expertly managed spaces, supplies, services, and solutions, at the best value, to enable federal employees to accomplish their missions. We are the largest public real estate organization in United States, maintaining more than 350 million square feet of workspace for more than a million federal employees in over 1,600 American communities, comprising 40 percent of federal office space.
Public Buildings Service (PBS)
GSA provides a full range of real estate services, as well as serves as builder, developer, leaser and manager of federally owned and leased properties through our Public Buildings Service (PBS), the entity primarily responsible for the federal government's civilian facilities program. - Office of Organizational Resources - Responsible for managing all aspects of Public Buildings Service assets—Human Capital assets, Physical Capital assets, and Technology Capital assets.
- Office of Budget and Financial Management - Provides leadership, expert advice, and consultation in the areas of budget and financial management, management control, and audit resolution to the PBS Commissioner, PBS Business Lines, and the Regional personnel.
- Office of Design and Construction - Coordinates GSA's architectural, engineering and construction services.
- Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings - Advocates sustainable design which is vital to PBS's mission of providing a superior workplace for the federal worker and superior value for the American taxpayer. We advocate high performance design strategies that can produce efficient buildings to operate with increased asset value and higher occupant productivity.
- Office of Client Solutions - Responsible for the coordination of PBS's client relationships and the creation and implementation of business processes, tools, training and guidance to support the acquisition and delivery of space assignments and related services to our clients.
- Office of Real Estate Acquisition - Directs the development of procedures and specifications related to realty services. We provide advocacy and strategic direction in national GSA real estate issues. We utilize the advice and support of the Regional Realty Services Officers in the execution of the National Realty Services Program.
- Office of Portfolio Management—Responsible for maximizing the value of PBS' portfolio of owned and leased assets by developing national strategies and serving as a consultant to the GSA regions.
- Office of Facilities Management and Services Programs - Responsible for providing program management, support and guidance to our Property Managers in an effort to provide a safe, healthy, effective and efficient work environment for our clients.
