Guidance for the Preparation of Technical Manuals  

This guidance has been developed to provide instruction on the mechanics of preparing manuscripts for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 5-800 series technical manuals. The guidance reflects the requirements of AR 25-30 which is the governing document for preparation of Department of the Army technical manuals. For convenience and in order to save time for technical manual authors, excerpts from AR 25-30 are included in Attachment A. The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) Style Manual should be consulted for word forms, abbreviations and other matters of basic presentation.
