An aboveground metal magazine capable of completely containing fragments from an explosion involving up to 1,000 DUPONT E-117 detonators when stored in the defined configuration. The ESQD is based on blast only. Use of this magazine was approve for a DCASR (now DLA) contractor who was unable to meet a 670-foot ESQD requirement.
